Craig Steven Henry

January 21st, 1963 -October 21st, 2024 It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our father Craig Steven Henry, 61, of Bree Road, Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away peacefully on Oct. 21, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville Florida. After a 6-year battle with lung cancer. Craig was born to the late Lauretta Joan Piper Henry and Sgt. Robert Lewis Henry on January 21,1963 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg Pennsylvania. At the passing of his father Robert Lewis Henry Jan 5th, 1966, at the age of 24, Lauretta continued to teach Craig what life was all about becoming a man, including working and sports. Playing baseball for Meals, Towing, and playing Football for Harrisburg Raiders with the assistance of Stepfather Dwight Taylor. Craig eventually became a Harrisburg Cougar playing several positions until he graduated. #50 Craig Henry is what his younger brother Dwight named him. Once he graduated, he worked at Wendys, then joined his brother Albert Henry at Stroehmann Bakery, working 18 years the Henry family including sister Adrain Henry, shared 29 years together at Strohman's Bakery, devoting more time at Reese's Factory Hershey, Pennsylvania. Later Craig then relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where he later invested time at Fowlers Bakery, where he would receive the news of having cancer. Craig was a man with immense humor and wisdom he was always giving to whomever was around him. Craig was always the life of the party. He had a passion for dancing, fishing, and football. Man, he loved his Eagles, he never missed a game. His unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. As we celebrate the moments, we have all spent with him, we can all smile knowing he would've been doing the same thing. He would be wanting us to be dancing and partying with no tears as he would say, "Let that be the reason"! His last words to his girls as they sat beside him were, "Don't Be Sad." Preceded in death by his Parents; Sister; Robin Henry, Brother; Eugene Henry Grandparents Albert and Mattie Piper, Lewis and Louise Henry, Aunt Helen Brooks, Aunt Mary Flood, Cousin Lisa Piper.. Craig S. Henry is survived by his Stepfather; Dwight Taylor, Brothers; Albert Henry and Dwight Henry, Sister; Adrain Henry. Aunt Helen Drayton all of Harrisburg, Aunt Karen Washington, Uncle Teddy Henry, Detroit Michigan, Aunt Ellen Lee Flint Michigan, Uncle Johnny Henry Lancaster Pennsylvania, Scarlet Jesus Acosta; Children; Jamar D. Henry (Aliya Henry), Tierra N. Henry (Lemar Lester), Morgan G. Butler, Sharday D. Henry, Mia L. Butler; Siblings; 6 Grandchildren; Perry Kane-Henry, Daeshawn Kane, Jaymeir Kane, Maliya Kane, Marquise Kane, and Bonnie Jefferson Butler, 1 Great Granddaughter; Milani Kane, and 15 Nieces and Nephews. With a host of other Stepchildren and Grandchildren who looked up to him.
