Deborah Melius Williams

Deborah Melius Williams ("Debbie"), of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away in the early morning hours of March 19, 2026, at the age of 63, following a seven-year battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia. Debbie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael Williams; her children, Albert "Devery" Ernest IV (Makenzie) and Shelby Ernest; her grandson, Albert Ernest V; her mother, Georganne "Gigi" Melius; her sisters, Doren Osborn (John) and Amanda Bradshaw (Donald); her nieces, Phoebe and Olivia Bradshaw; and her stepchildren, Emma Drach (Dan), Joshua "Lane" Williams, and Olivia Williams. She is also remembered by countless friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Frederick "Fred" Melius III. Born on May 22, 1962, Debbie grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she was a beloved daughter and sister. She carried forward her family's values of loving loudly and supporting those around her with unwavering devotion. Debbie went on to build a meaningful career as a physician assistant, dedicating herself to the care of others. Debbie's spirit lives on in her children, Devery and Shelby, whom she raised with strength, resilience, and a sense of humor-qualities she held onto even in the face of illness. In the final chapter of her life, when words were few, she still found ways to share a laugh and say "I love you" to her children. Debbie was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Michael, whose loyalty and compassion throughout her illness were truly inspiring. In their years together, they found joy in cooking meals side by side-often with a glass of wine or a cocktail in hand-spending time at the beach and traveling. Debbie's love for Michael never dimmed; until the very end, her face would light up whenever he entered the room. The love they shared will remain one of her most enduring legacies. Though our hearts are broken to lose Debbie, we find peace in knowing she is free from suffering and resting in the loving arms of the Lord. A service celebrating Debbie's life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on Friday May 8, 2026, at 11 AM EDT.
