Pamela LaGosh

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Pamela "Pam" Sue LaGosh. Pam, as the self-proclaimed favorite child and baby of her siblings, enjoyed ice skating, making friends, and butchering the pronunciation of "Old McDonald's Farm" to her oldest sister's discontent. "Second time's the charm" seemed to be the rule for Pam as she had to meet Laurence "Larry" LaGosh two times before making the wonderful choice of becoming inseparable from each other. She was happily married to Larry, her loyal husband, for 39 years. She was a loving, caring, and amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was beloved by her mother, Norma Johnson (Yerkes), and father, Merlyn "Corky" Johnson. Pam was very active with the Girl Scouts and was instrumental in arranging a European trip for her daughter's troop that gave many local girls an opportunity and experience of a lifetime. Pam continued to greatly enjoy gardening, painting, and crafts of all kinds, but what she took most pride in was raising her three children and getting to experience the people that they had become. Upon the passing of Pam's mother, her father Corky moved to Jacksonville and Pam proudly became his main caregiver for nine years until his passing in 2023. She is survived by Larry LaGosh (husband); three children: Emily LaGosh (M-J White), Austin LaGosh (Clarissa Stein), Hannah LaGosh; four grandchildren: Jayden, Jackson, Sarina and Simon; siblings: Yvonne Taylor (Pete), JJ Douglas, and Merlyn Johnson (Jill); and various nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlyn "Corky" and Norma Johnson. Funeral services will be held in Jacksonville Beach, Florida at 11:00 am September 27, 2024, in Christ Church Ponte Vedra Beach. Pam loved to dress up and be fashionable, so feel free to attempt to outdo what she would have chosen for herself. Come share your stories of Pam and celebrate her life after the services in the church's reception hall. With Pam's life being split between her upbringing in Jackson, Michigan and upbringing her own children in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, a memorial will also be held in Jackson at Fifield Cemetery in Blackman Charter Township at noon on September 9, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Pam's name to organizations such as North Florida Rabbit Rescue in Jacksonville, Florida, your local or favorite botanical garden, any animal shelter, a charity of your choosing, or even a simple planting of a tree in her honor. Pam loved making new friends and learning all about them. Her smiles were infectious and she spread love and joy wherever she went. The family asks that everyone try to take up that mantle in her absence.
