Angie Garcia Hernandez Vasquez (1960-2022) Angie Garcia Hernandez Vasquez, born on February 15,1960 in San Antonio,Tx was called to be with the Lord on February 2,2022 at the age of 61 in Jacksonville, Fl. She is preceded in death by her parents Arnulfo and Leonor Garcia, and husband Jose M. Vasquez. She is survived by her children, Steve A. Hernandez (Esther), Kathy A. Garcia (Rhyan); grandchildren Steve A. Hernandez Jr., Destiny M. Magofna, Kora K. Regulacion; sisters Maryhelen Martinez (Matias lll), Ida G. Gonzalez (Felix), Nancy Reyes (Pedro Jr.) Lillian Garcia. Angie was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Sidney Lanier Highschool in 1979 and was enrolled in ROTC. She started her training at Estrada Achievement Center for Nurses Aid and began her career at Morningside Manor in 1980. And that's where she met her first husband Ruben Hernandez; they got married and then had their two children. She was very involved in her children's school and attended PTA meetings and was a substitute teacher at Beacon Hill Elementary. She enjoyed being involved in any school functions and activities throughout her children's education. She became a widow early on in life and continued to be the best mother and provider. Angie then made her way to Jacksonville, Florida in 1995 where her sister Nancy resided with her new husband Jose "Joe" M. Vasquez began their new life with her children . She made that move to better her family. She started a new career as a Program Director for the Before/After school care program at the YMCA (W.E. Cherry Elementary). She then retired to take care of her ill husband who then passed away in 2010. She continued to stay strong through it all while staying busy with her grandchildren and volunteering at their schools. She loved being around her family and friends and that's what brought joy to her life. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am on March 12,2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on 5752 Blanding Blvd Jacksonville, Fl 32244. Flowers may be delivered to the church prior to service or you may bring flowers with you.
