Diana Marie Childers

April 12, 1947 - August 20, 2021

Diana Marie Snowden Childers age 74, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, after a short illness. She was affectionately known as Lady Di to her close friends. Diana was the eldest child to Robert and Eileen Snowden. She is survived by her brother Richard and sSister in law Mary Snowden, her daughters LehAna Childers-Knuckles and Son-in-law Pete Knuckles, Jami Childers-Rood and Son-in-law Shane Rood, her grandchildren, Danyelle Loper, Kalyn Williams, Robert Kotlinski, Dy Ana Dye, Dayna Dye, her great grandchild Grandchildren Calvin Guffy and Brett Hale. Nebraska born, she traded the cold weather for sunny California in her teens. Diana made another scenery change when she and her love, Thomas Flanagan moved to Florida to be close to family. she began a career working at The Disabled Veteran's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fl. Diana fiercely advocated for her vets for 15 years until she retired. Her "take no crap attitude" was admired by most and feared by some. Her coworkers and doctors respected her immensely. Our Mother, Diana, loved dancing, live music and riding into the sunset on Harleys. She never went out of the house without her make up or perfume on. Her hair was always perfect. She loved her kids, grandkids and great grands. Her favorite holidays were Christmas and Thanksgiving because she thoroughly enjoyed shopping, giving and spending time with her family. It was her time to shine and she was born to sparkle! Lady Di was like the wind, she could be gentle like a warm summer breeze or fierce and powerful like a hurricane. We will remember her through the words of this Native American prayer: I give you this one thought to keep. I am with you still, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. Do not think of me as gone, I am with you still in each new dawn.
