John Aderhold

John Aderhold Jr., beloved, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024 at the age of 90. He was known to many as Johhny or the unoffical mayor of Arlington. He will be remembered fondly for his deep love of family, his passion for hunting, and his dedication to his garden. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Johnny was born in Jacksonville, FL to John Frank Aderhold Sr. and Erma Lee Wiles on August 31st, 1933. He grew up surrounded by nature, which sparked his lifelong love for hunting. Johnny could often be found in the woods, enjoying the thrill of the hunt and the beauty of the outdoors. In addition to his love for hunting, Johnny had a green thumb and took great pride in his garden. He nurtured a variety of plants and vegetables, spending countless hours tending to his garden with care and dedication. His tomatoes were always a highlight of the summer, eagerly shared with friends and family. Above all, John cherished his family. He was a loving father to John (Frank) Aderhold III, Deena Brown, Phillip Aderhold Sr., and Nancy Wilson, guiding them with wisdom and support. His grandchildren, Phillip Aderhold Jr. (Cynthia) , Johnathan Brown (Kyla), Ashley Carter(Shawn), Erin Aderhold, and Jason Wilson, brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He cherished time spent with his great grandchildren, Wyatt Aderhold, Charlotte Aderhold, Kinsley Carter, Layton Carroll, Lawson Carroll, Reid Brown, Gwendolyn Brown, and Havilah Brown. He is preceeded in death by his sister Lima Williams (Joe). He is survived by his sisters Betty Price (Ellis), Darlene O'Neal (Louie), Joy Dowling (Bert), and brother Tom Aderhold (Barbara). John will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warm smile, generous spirit, and love for life touched everyone he met. While we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that his memory will live on in our hearts and in the stories we share. A memorial service will be held at Riverside Church at Park & King on Saturday July 6, 2024 at 10AM. The family welcomes everyone to join after graveside services for a meal at The Elk's Lodge at 1855 W Rd Jacksonville, Fl 32216. You may bring a dish if you'd like.
